What to Expect - Our Design Process:
Initial Consultation
Our first meeting will be held on site where we
will discuss the opportunities and constraints of your site. We will discuss
the scope of your project and develop a
set of expectations for each other. If you decide you are comfortable with your
Lizer design representative, they will proceed into the project programming
phase. Otherwise, our agent will return to the office, prepare a service
proposal and arrange a second meeting.
Project Programming
We work diligently together to determine your
vision and overall project goals by completing a thorough interview process. We
create a wish list and establish budget guidelines. In addition, we complete a
site analysis and review the landscape site variables. If it is determined you
will need a site survey, topographic map, and/or a soil analysis, it will be
arranged at this time. (One Business Day)
Conceptual Design
After we have completed your design program, our
agent will develop a preliminary plan or series of plans and evaluate probable
construction costs. Together we will review the design and finalize the
construction budget. Based on your input, the design and cost analysis report
are revised until you are satisfied and ready to proceed. If it is clear that
your wish list exceeds your budget, we work together to prioritize your design
features. At this point, you may decide to break the project up into more than
one construction phase in order to make it more affordable. If necessary, we
will help you create a logical multi-phased installation plan. (Six to Ten
Business Days)
Master Plan Development
Once you are happy with the preliminary plan and
construction budget, we will develop your finalize your master plan. This
design will include a detailed construction/planting plan, construction details
and specifications unique to your project. During this stage we will meet to
review the specific "blueprints," including all the plant selections and
construction material choices. (Ten to Fourteen Business Days)
Project Estimation
Once we have completed your master plan, we will
perform a bid "take-off" to inventory all materials necessary to install your
project phase. This will be an accurate projection listing all materials
and labor. (Three to Five Business Days)
Project Presentation
As soon as our estimation department finalizes
the bid, we schedule an appointment to discuss your project. This meeting
is normally scheduled for our office where we have resource materials to
reference while discussing your project. If you have problems visualizing
the design, we can arrange a special site visit where we will delineate your
plan on your site using special ground paint (a small fee will be charged) .
